After diagnosing the patient\u2019s disorder of thought, emotion, attitude and behavior, the psychiatry physician decides which treatment method (medication, medication + psychotherapy, psychotherapy) will be beneficial for the patient and applies the appropriate treatment model.<\/p>\n

Some psychiatrists who do not provide psychotherapy themselves refer patients they deem necessary to another psychotherapist. From this perspective, it becomes clear that the belief that every psychiatrist constantly or exclusively prescribes medication to every patient is mistaken.<\/p>\n

The perception that psychiatrists continuously prescribe medication to all their patients is deliberately kept on the agenda by certain circles. While there may be many reasons for this misconception, one of the most significant is the incomplete understanding of the science of psychiatry.<\/p>\n

Indeed, it is observed that the reactions toward psychiatric medications are usually far more intense than toward medications prescribed in other branches of medicine. Although it is acknowledged that psychiatry still has much to uncover about how the human brain functions, the current body of scientific knowledge is undeniable.<\/p>\n

Some of the insights gained about how we think and how we feel demonstrate that in certain cases, the findings can only be alleviated through medication. Psychiatrists frequently encounter this reality in their professional practice.<\/p>\n

The belief that many psychiatric symptoms can be self-resolved merely through thought often does little more than delay patients from seeking professional help. Therefore, the notion that \u201cPSYCHIATRISTS ALWAYS \/ ONLY PRESCRIBE MEDICATION\u201d is a false belief.<\/p>\n
